How often should I change the machine’s Water Filter
For optimal use, it is recommended to replace the water filter after 2 months. So that the filter continues to do its job properly and maintains its filtering capacity. The filter may show bacteria buildup after 2 months which causes the intake capacity to decrease. Once saturated, the filter will not leak the absorbed substances into the reservoir.
How to replace the water filter
Replacing the water filter is a simple process and can be completed in a few steps:
1. Dip the filter inverted into cold water in vertical position and gently press the sides to let out any air bubbles, shake the filter slightly to allow remaining air to leave the filter as well.
2. Remove the reservoir from the machine.
3. Remove the old filter from the reservoir; it may be disposed of in the residual waste.
4. Rotate the filter vertically into place, check that the filter cartridge is tight.
5. Fill the reservoir with cold tap water and place it back in the machine.
6. Each new filter cartridge should be rinsed with 3 to 4 cups of water the first time it is used. Rinse the filter cartridge by running about a 3 to 4 cups of water through the machine’s steam nozzle. Then discard this water. The filter cartridge and coffee machine are now ready for use.
Keep in mind that the filter replacement interval depends on the quality of the water and the use of the filter. It is recommended to change the filter cartridge every 3 months.
